Today!

Well I must say that having two children is a lot more work then one. Some days are really hard, it seems like the hours are going by so slow; and I just can't wait for the day to end. Then other days, like today and yesterday, being a mom feels so wonderful and rewarding. Since Emily was born James has been a little more of a handful then usual. These last two days he has been a dream child. Giving me kisses, telling me he loves me, and wanting to hold and help with Emily. Even though some days are extremely rough, I truly feel blessed to be a mom of these two beautiful children. I love watching James learn at least two new words a day, and try to put sentences together. I love watching him experiment and try new things. He is a true joy. As for Emily, she is a good baby, she is starting to smile, and it is so precious... I have learned through James to take the time to appreciate every little milestone because time goes by way to fast.

This morning James was adamant about holding his little sister... he wanted to feed her an apple, and burp her. He is a little rough with the burping but I let him try anyway. He was so cute with her; kissing her, and petting her head. I love these babies so much!

Both Smiling (What are the chances!)

James was so excited that Emily was watching Barney with him this morning, He thought it was pretty funny. (Look how much Emily has grown)

Emily was being so smiley, the pictures didn't capture the peek of her huge grin, but none the less they show her sweet little smile. I love this girl!

All Better!

Well after reading advice from my responders, and researching a little on the Internet I cured the problem. I compared all the ingredients of the products that were irritating her skin and found one common ingredient (Cocamidopropyl Betaine). I then looked at all the products that didn't seem to bother her and discovered that the same ingredient was not present. I looked up the effects that this ingredient could have on the skin if you were allergic. Sure enough eczema, rash, and little water blisters are what you get. I then looked up the Mastella product that was mentioned in response to my last post; after reading several reviews I decided to try it out. Like magic I gave her a bath using the body cleanser and shampoo, by that night it was looking so much better. I gave her a bath the following day and now it is totally gone. No cradle cap, no eczema, no nothing!!! She is now a much happier baby.

For those of you, who responded, thank you so much for your advice.

Help/ Advice

I need some advice... About a week and a half ago after giving Emily a bath she broke out in this nasty rash. When it didn't get better after two days I took her to the doctor. They were no help at all. After reading a few things online I decided to eliminated all scented soaps and lotions, change our laundry detergent. And I proceeded to covered her in A&D Ointment, and Aquaphor creame. The rash started clearing up and was just about gone so I gave her another bath yesterday ( I waited more then a week between baths) and she broke out again. I used the Aquaphor bath soap and bathed her with room temperature water for a short period of time and none of it mattered. She is not a happy baby with this rash, she is definitely uncomfortable. I really need some advice because the doctors did not help at all. (Please; any advice will be appreciated) In addition to the rash she also has craddle cap... advice for that would be nice as well.

I know after reading this the correct assumption is to not give her a bath... That is not possible; her hygiene still needs to be maintained.

Thank you!

POOL TIME :0)

This may seem a little white trash to some people, including myself. However I do not regret it and will probably do it several more times over the course of the summer. Do to the fact that Emily is to small to go into the big pool at our apartments I decided that James still needed some sort of outlet. I went to Walmart and bought this $5.00 blow-up pool and set it up outside in the grassy area of our apartment complex. Him and his little friend had a blast playing in it.

ps. sorry the pictures are bad... I had my camera on the night setting (Oops!)

One Month Old

Emily is now One month old. I can't even believe how fast time is flying by. Emily is such a wonderful baby. She is a very calm, but gets a little upset when I set her down. I am not sure if it 's because she really loves it when I hold her, or if she is scared that her big brother will get her if I set her down.

So far her mile stones at one month are:
  • She has a really strong neck and likes to lift her head up and look around
  • She sleeps about 4 hour streches at night time
  • She loves to eat (She kind of humms when she is eating)
  • She his starting to smile at little
Other then those few things she eats, sleeps and poops a lot!
We absolutley love the newest addition to our family and enjoy every moment of her in our lives.

(We love you Emily!!!)

Easter

Easter was a lot of fun this year since James was old enough to enjoy it. This is him dying the eggs. He loved this activity; he must have dyed each egg about 10 times. When all was said and done we didn't have any eatable eggs. They were all very cracked and looked pretty ugly.
(Sorry James!)

I took these pictures Easter morning... I was trying to get the studio affect with my Non- studio camera. I still think they turned out okay.

These pictures were taken Easter morning. between two sets of grandparents, and Mom & Dad I would have to say that Easter ended up being a little more like Christmas when it came to the gifts. He got a ball, sidewalk chalk, cloths, a swim suite, sand toys, bubbles, and lots of candy. As you can see James really loved the candy part. He rarely gets sweets so this was a true privilege for him.
